  1.                        CALIBRATION OF THE VISUAL ACUITY CHART

  3. The acuity chart must be accurately 
  4. calibrated.  The calibration should 
  5. be periodically checked.

  7. Checking Calibration:

  9. 1. Measure the distance from the 
  10.     patient├¡s eye position to the chart.
  11.  
  12. 2. Measure the size of the 20/200 
  13.     (6/60) letter
  14.  
  15. 3. From the accompanying 
  16.     chart determine if letter 
  17.     size is correct.  If not the 
  18.     magnification of the 
  19.     projector must be 
  20.     changed (see following 
  21.     screens).
